How To Customize Your Home Feed On Pinterest | Screen Rant

0

Pinterest allows users to customize their home feeds to get the most out of the platform. Personalization is vital for social media. Algorithms do their best to provide users with precisely what they want, but sometimes interests change. An account that a person followed a few years ago might not be what they are into anymore. Even a board created some time ago could not be of interest today. This is why customizing the home feed can come in handy.

Both Twitter and Instagram allow users to personalize their feeds. Users can choose topics to follow and mute certain accounts. The easiest way to adjust what shows up on the feed is by cleaning up the list of accounts a user follows. This will weed out things users are not interested in or clean things up, so there isn't so much in the feed. Pinterest provides an easy way to clean up the profiles users are following and other ways to customize the home feed in all one place.

Pinterest has a 'Homefeed tuner' feature that has the user's history, boards, and topics and profiles they follow. To tune the home feed, go to the app and the user profile. Then, click on the three-dotted line. Next, select settings and click on 'Homefeed tuner.' The Boards, History, Topics and Profiles are all listed for users to sort through. Users can also take these steps on the desktop. The only difference is to click on the down arrow instead of the three-dotted lines.

Once the user is in the 'Homefeed tuner,' they can browse all their Boards and toggle off any subject matter they don't want to see in the home feed. Next, click on History to see content that the user engaged with or posted recently. Click 'Turn off' for anything the person doesn't want to see anymore. It can easily be turned back on by clicking 'Turn on.' Next, move over to Topics. Simply click 'Remove' if it's no longer of interest. Once again, it's easy to add back. Just click 'Add.' Finally, move over to Profiles to sort through the list. Just click on 'Following' if the user doesn't want to follow the profile anymore and 'Follow' to follow them again.

The 'Homefeed tuner' feature on Pinterest is a handy tool for users to keep up-to-date so they can see what interests them most or just what they are feeling at the time on their home feed. For example, Supernatural is no longer airing, so the user might want to remove that board from Boards or stop following profiles related to that. Maybe the user went through a DIY phase and wanted ideas for projects. Now the user might be more interested in seeing other people's artwork. The 'DIY And Crafts' topic can easily be removed in the 'Homefeed tuner' to stop this content from showing up.
