Tottenham pay tribute to SunSport legend Paul Jiggins with classy gestures in media zones ahead of West Ham clash
TOTTENHAM paid a touching tribute to SunSport legend Paul Jiggins who died this week aged 50.
Spurs laid out a copy of The Sun alongside a photo of “Jiggo” and a candle in the press lounge before their London derby against West Ham.
Paul covered Tottenham with distinction for 10 years until he was taken too soon and the North Londoners made sure he was remembered on Sunday.
As well as the internal display, white flowers were laid out on Jiggo’s desk in the press seats within the stadium.
Earlier this week, former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino paid his own tribute.
Millwall fan Jiggo was one of the sharpest football journalists in the business.
And Spurs’ last-gasp win over Ajax to reach the Champions League final – 24 hours after Liverpool’s epic fightback against Barcelona – led our quick-witted star to write: “Mauricio Pochettino cried for joy after his Spurs heroes made the greatest Champions League comeback since Tuesday.”
Paris Saint-Germain boss Pochettino, 50, had the pleasure of being quizzed by Jiggo on a regular basis through his five-year stint in charge of Spurs.
And the Argentine was quick to honour his memory upon learning of his tragic passing.

“He was there from the start of our Spurs journey in Seattle on pre-season, the first British journalist to hear me try to speak English!
