‘Spurs look favourites’ – Ex-Arsenal player Keown puts pressure on rivals in top four race
Martin Keown has claimed Tottenham Hotspur should be considered as favourites to finish fourth in the Premier League ahead of his former club Arsenal.
The Gunners secured a 1-0 away win against Aston Villa yesterday afternoon to extend their advantage to six points over Tottenham with the same amount of games played.
Spurs have the opportunity to chip away at the half dozen point advantage which Arsenal hold when Antonio Conte’s side face rivals West Ham United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium later this afternoon.
Keown told BT Sport 1 HD (19/3/21): “There are a lot of games ahead. I think Spurs look favourites to actually make it into the top four. Arsenal, I know, they’re in the boss seat now, but you look at the fixtures.
“There are games away at Chelsea, Spurs. It’s in Arsenal’s hands – they can do it but there is a long way to go.”

This could be purely a case of mind games from Keown to try and heap the pressure on Tottenham. It would be fair to say that Arsenal have the more difficult run in and the rearranged north London derby could prove to be decisive in who finishes in fourth.
Spurs need to take all three points against the Hammers today otherwise it could prove to be the final nail in the coffin of their hopes of returning to European football’s most prestigious club competition.
