In Germany, they came up with another way to “fight Russia.” Now Germany, like other countries of the European Union, is actively generating ideas on how to save energy.

Previously, they had already proposed lowering the temperature in residential buildings and even giving up meat. Now, the chairman of the Confederation of German Trade Unions, Rainer Hoffmann, has proposed introducing a speed limit on the roads in order to save gasoline. This is reported by RIA Novosti, referring to his interview with the newspaper Hamburger Abendblatt.

“We could temporarily impose speed limits of 100 kilometers per hour on motorways and 30 kilometers per hour in cities to limit energy consumption. Saving every drop of gasoline is the right option,” he said.

At the same time, he himself understands that such an idea, even with an ideal implementation, does not solve anything. He insists on the use of renewable energy sources. However, the transition to them will take years, but for now the EU can continue to impose sanctions against Russia and itself suffer from them.
