Shock and sadness for Scottish Parliament official & his family
It is with great sadness that Old Wesley RFC shares the news and the reaction to a tragic incident on Saturday 19th March.
Politicians & the wider rugby community across Scotland & Ireland have paid tribute to the Scottish Parliament official, David Hill, who died while playing rugby. David died on Saturday after taking part in a match in Old Wesley for the Scottish Parliament, his team announced.
Described as “rugby daft”, Mr Hill was the head of office for Scottish Conservative MSP and Holyrood justice spokesman Jamie Greene. He was playing for the cross-party Holyrood team in a match against the Dail and Seanad XV team when the incident occurred, we understand that David was taken by ambulance – but later died.
