[Men's Golf] Men's Golf Retains Cup Versus Bulldogs
Doane Men's Golf took on Concordia in the annual Tiger-Bulldog Cup held at York Country Club in York, Neb. The Tigers posted a 15.5-14.5 victory over the Bulldogs to retain the cup and improve to 6-2 all-time in the match play event. The teams competed in nine holes of best ball, nine of greensomes, and nine of singles play.
Garrett Dalton (SO/Parker, Colo.) was the lone Tiger to go undefeated and earn three team points with a 3-0 mark. He teamed with Samuel Banzhaf (SO/Overton, Neb.) in the paired up matches, posting wins of 1-UP and 2-UP. In singles play he was victorious 2-UP and collected the winning team point to break a 14.5-all tie.
Karsten Kern (SO/Sioux Falls, S.D.) and Tyler Crandon (SR/Lincoln, Neb.) went 2-0-1 on the day, starting out the day with an All-Square match in best ball play. They followed with a 4 & 3 win (up 4 with 3 to play) and then each won their singles match. Kern was victorious 1-UP while Crandon won 4 & 3.
