Switzerland’s Scheffler Signs to Play at D1 Seattle University
Switzerland’s Dominic Scheffler has committed to join the NCAA Division I Seattle University Redhawks program in 2023.
The 6-foot-3 lefty pitcher is seventh on Perfect Game’s inaugural ranking of top European prospects, with the amateur scouting service noting that he “possesses a heater that works in the upper-80s” and has “plenty more in the tank as he continues to physically develop. Pro scouts are aware of the Swiss southpaw.”
Scheffler, who played his club baseball in Switzerland with the Zurich Barracudas, has represented Switzerland at the U18 and U23 levels and has also spent time refining his game in Japan.
He is currently in Regensburg, Germany, where he is training at the Guggenberger Legionäre Regensburg academy.
The Redhawks compete in the Western Athletic Conference and are currently 6-10 after the first month of play in the 2022 season.
