King Tweety Animated Film Trailer [EXCLUSIVE] | Screen Rant
You’re invited to a royally Looney movie event as everyone's favorite cat and bird duo, Tweety and Sylvester, join forces in Warner Bros.' upcoming animated film, King Tweety. Screen Rant is happy to exclusively announce the animated Tweety movie and reveal its trailer. King Tweety marks Tweety’s second starring role in a feature-length film, following 2000's direct-to-video animated film, Tweety's High-Flying Adventure. In it, Tweety attempts to fly around the world in 80 days to help Granny raise enough money to save a local park.
Tweety debuted back in 1942 in the short, A Tale of Two Kitties, which took home an Oscar for Best Animated Short. The foil for the always hungry Sylvester grew in popularity, and soon became one of the most beloved Looney Tunes characters, second only to Bugs Bunny in terms of universal awareness. He starred in numerous films over the years, including a second Oscar winner, Birds Anonymous in 1957. He has gone on to become a cultural icon, with his likeness adorning every imaginable type of merchandise.
In King Tweety, everyone's favorite yellow canary unexpectedly becomes next in line for the crown when the queen of an island paradise disappears. His Little Highness’ entourage includes motorbike daredevil Granny and sly Sylvester, whose allegiance is tested when he uncovers a sinister plot to eliminate Tweety for good. The home entertainment release also includes three bonus classic Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries cartoons, "Something Fishy Around Here," "The Maltese Canary" and "The Cat Who Knew Too Much."

King Tweety is just one of many celebrations to commemorate Tweety’s 80th anniversary. Warner Bros.’ “80 Years of Tweety” campaign will kick off in Austin at SXSW 2022 on March 11, where the first group of 80 Tweety murals will officially debut. Each mural will be created by a different artist around the world. Loungefly is also joining the celebration with two all-new, Tweety-inspired products for fans of all ages.
Warner Bros. has placed a renewed focus on the Looney Tunes gang in the last couple of years. Back in 2020, HBO Max debuted Looney Tunes Cartoons, a series of 62 short, animated films that truly captured the spirit of the original Looney Tunes shorts. The animation style, character design, humor and even the music, all harkened back to the Golden Age of animation. New episodes of Looney Tunes Cartoons will debut from the Max Original series throughout the year in celebration of Tweety’s anniversary. Tweety was also featured in last year’s Space Jam: A New Legacy, which brought the Looney Tunes gang into the world of CG as they helped LeBron James save his son from the digital world in a high-stakes game of basketball against the upgraded Goon Squad.
Look for King Tweety on DVD and Digital in late spring.
