The Wanted’s Tom Parker reveals tell-all book about his battle with brain cancer but insists ‘it’s not about dying’
THE Wanted star Tom Parker will release a book all about his life, but promises it won’t be about “dying.”
The singer, 33, was diagnosed with “inoperable” glioblastoma in October 2020.
He announced the exciting news with a heartwarming video on Instagram, which included photos of his early pop star days and with his young family.
The video showed an animated book flipping pages with the photos and words from Tom, as he did the voiceover.
Tom started: “Hi, I’m Tom Parker, a lot of you know me as one fifth of The Wanted, but I am also a father, a husband, and a son, that’s battling brain cancer.
“My book, coming this July, is not about dying: It’s a book about living. It’s a book about finding hope in whatever situation you’re dealt, and living your best life no matter what.

The book announcement was met with an excited reaction from fans and Tom’s celebrity mates alike.
Jay McGuiness commented: “This is going to be EPIC. If you do book signing I’m available as security.”
Arlene Phillips wrote: “Tom this is so wonderful. .”

Tom’s wife, Kelsey, hilariously added: “Can’t wait to read the chapter about me .”
Earlier today Kelsey posted a sweet clip of Tom’s kids cuddled up together on his wheelchair.
Last month, Tom spent some time in Spain receiving revolutionary treatment in his battle with incurable brain cancer.
Tom is now using a wheelchair after treatment for his inoperable tumour left him too weak to stand.
Aurelia, one, and baby Bodhi looked cuter than ever as they watched Trolls on the TV.
Kelsey captioned the post: “These two crack me up. They love the new chair.”
The Bolton lad had been in a private hospital in a bid to get fit for his band’s reunion tour which started at the beginning on March.
He missed the opening nights of tour because he was in hospital getting treatment but managed to make it out on the road soon after.
Despite being so ill, Tom made it his mission to join his bandmates Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness on stage for The Wanted’s The Greatest Hits tour.
Tom revealed in October 2020 that he had an inoperable stage 4 glioblastoma — which doctors described as “the worst case scenario”.
He was told he was likely to have only 12 to 18 months to live.
However, after six rounds of chemotherapy and 30 radiotherapy sessions, Tom revealed his revealed his inoperable brain tumour is “under control” in October 2021.
