[Softball] Rio takes two from Trailblazers

    RIO GRANDE, Ohio - The University of Rio Grande softball team opened the River States Conference portion of its schedule in successful fashion, using a pair of three-run innings in both games to sweep a doubleheader from Ohio Christian University, Saturday afternoon, at Rio Softball Park.
    The RedStorm scored three times in the fifth inning and added three more runs in the sixth to take game one from the Trailblazers, 6-4, while a three-run second inning and a three-run fourth helped fuel an 8-2 triumph in the nightcap.
    Rio Grande improved to 15-9 overall and 2-0 in league play, winning for a third straight time on the heels of a five-game losing streak.
    Ohio Christian, which is being coached this season by former Rio baseball standout Daryin Lewis, fell to 4-12 overall and 2-2 in the RSC.
