Grace And Frankie Season 7 Sets Release Date For Final Episodes
Netflix has announced the premiere date for the last episodes of Grace and Frankie season 7. Developed by Friends co-creator Marta Kauffman, Grace and Frankie began streaming on Netflix in 2015. The show stars Emmy winners Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin as the title characters, two unalike women who are forced to live together after their husbands leave them, with the men revealing they are in love with each other. The series initially took some time to win the admiration of fans and critics, but it has since become a genre phenomenon, amassing accolades at all major awards shows and bringing in an exclusive roster of A-list guest stars like Ed Asner, RuPaul, and Lisa Kudrow. In 2019, it was announced that season 7 would be the final one for the series. The show premiered with 4 episodes in August 2021 after being delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and now the streaming giant has set a premiere date for the remaining episodes of season 7 as well.
As revealed by Netflix on Tuesday, the outstanding 12 episodes of Grace and Frankie's final season 7 will premiere on April 29, 2022. As the season drops, it will bring the total episode count for the series to 94, thereby cementing Grace and Frankie as the longest-running series in the history of Netflix's original programming, both comedy and drama included. Currently, plot specifics for the final episodes are slim, but based on the official synopsis for the show, the upcoming part will follow the leads as they live their lives fully, freely, and fearlessly. All factors considered, it is no small feat that Grace and Frankie will soon officially become the longest-running original series on Netflix. The show has, of course, charmed audiences with the iconic chemistry between its lead duo over the years, but still, it was a hard journey to thrive amidst the stiff competition and continue telling stories when the streaming home itself was already notorious for its treatment of scripted comedies. Yet, Grace and Frankie, like its eponynous leads, managed to overcome all odds and deliver a show that will not only be forever memorable but also inpsirational and educational. As for fans who are too disillusioned by the ending, they need not to worry, as Fonda and Tomlin will soon be making a comeback considering they have reteamed for Paramount's new Tom Brady movie, 80 for Brady.
