On Monday evening, the Trinamool Congress panchayat deputy pradhan of the adjoining Barshal village, Bhadu Sheikh, was murdered in a bomb attack in Bogtui’s Paschimpara (western neighbourhood) where he lived. In India, such murders are committed by ‘miscreants,’ a term that makes killers, whether in a mob or in a more ‘careful’ attack, sound like they were vandals, eve-teasers or shoplifters.
