Teen Mom Ashley Jones claps back at claims she’s ‘homophobic’ after saying kids should NOT learn LGBTQ issues in school
TEEN Mom 2 star Ashley Jones clapped back at claims that she’s “homophobic” after she said kids should NOT learn about LGBTQ issues in school.
The 24-year-old defended her thoughts in a new Instagram Story post.
After Ashley publicly said that kids should not learn about LGBTQ issues in a school setting, many MTV fans were quick to dub the mother as “homophobic.”
Ashley took to her Instagram Story on Tuesday to clap back at the critics and explain her thoughts.
Alongside a photo of the sky from the view of an airplane, the Teen Mom 2 star wrote: “Everyone knows that I have dated girls in the past and I consider myself to be part of the LGBTQ+ community.
“However, I do NOT agree with children being taught anything other than ACADEMICS in school.”

She continued: “The sex-sexuality conversations need to come from the parent when they feel their child is mentally ready to process that information.
“It’s not about being homophobic, it’s about ME CHOOSING WHEN MY DAUGHTER WILL BE EXPOSED TO WHAT & I have that right as her mom.”
She wrote in the next slide: “I teach my daughter to love and accept all.
“I don’t need to go into specifics and I don’t need anyone else to either.

Ashley added that “homophobia is taught” and said it is the parents responsibility to “educate our own children.”
She concluded the slides by insisting that school systems are “overstepping their boundaries as educators.”

Fans shared their reactions to Ashley’s recent Instagram Story post after fan account Teen Mom Chatter shared a screenshot.
While many said they “agree” with Ashley’s explanation, one person wrote: “She’s right. Sex education/orientation shouldn’t be taught to kids who are impressionable, especially by their teachers. The overstepping is getting outrageous in CA.”
A following fan played devil’s advocate as they wrote: “Nice thought but we don’t all have parents to teach us. Sexual education is extremely important in schools.”
BABY NUMBER TWO?
Ashley shares four-year-old daughter Holly with husband Bar Smith, 25.
The TV personality recently sparked pregnancy rumors when she shared a photo of a sonogram on Instagram.
Earlier this month, Ashley posted the sonogram snap to her Instagram stories- which expired after one day.
Despite seemingly implying she’s expecting, fans realized the pic appears to be from 2017 when she was pregnant with Holly.
Ashley previously had to shut down pregnancy rumors when fans asked about her weight gain.
“Everyone has been asking me if I’m pregnant lately,” she shared on Instagram at the time. “It’s funny because just a year ago I was so skinny everyone was concerned.
“I’m not pregnant. I’m 150lbs and full all the time.”
When asked how she gained all the new weight, she said, “I just started eating anything and everything. I do not recommend lol but it worked for me. I was a 4, now I’m a size 10 in Zara.”
MARRIAGE TROUBLES
In addition to dealing with pregnancy rumors, Ashley is believed to be having marriage problems with Bar.
However, she previously had a sassy and stern response to rumors that the pair are close to divorcing.
The Teen Mom 2 star shared a selfie of the two of them cuddling on vacation while celebrating Bar’s 25th birthday.
“Next time you ask why he isn’t on my Insta, remember it’s cause he’s in my… heart,” Ashley captioned the photo.
Bar also chimed in by writing: “I love you baby, thank you for the trip. I had a dope a** birthday.”
