Elden Ring: How To Get Bloodhound's Step (Ash Of War)

0

The Bloodhound's Step is an Ash of War in Elden Ring that allows Tarnished to execute a dodge that renders the user invisible for the animation's duration. This Ash of War Skill features faster movement and a more extended range than Quickstep. Nimble melee fighters can perform this ability to create distance, close gaps, or even circle around locked-on targets, granting the chance for backstabs in Elden Ring. Furthermore, unlike dodge rolling, the Weight in one's Equip Load does not affect the Bloodhound's Step Skill, meaning heavy-weight Tarnished warrior can move just as swiftly as a light-weight assassin.

The location of the Ash of War: Bloodhound's Step in Elden Ring is in Dragonburrow, the northern sub-region of Caelid. Tarnished travelers are advised to be at least Levels 90 to 110 before attempting to complete content in this area. However, acquiring the Bloodhound's Step is possible at lower levels, thanks to a particular exploit.

To get the Bloodhound's Step in Elden Ring, adventurers must slay the Night's Cavalry that spawns on the footbridge near Lenne's Rise. Like any other Night's Cavalry, this Elden Ring Field Boss will only spawn at night, so Tarnished must ensure the time of day is right to confront it.

To reach this Night's Cavalry's location, the player can use the Sending Gate behind the Third Church of Marika in Limgrave. Near the rear of the church ruins, Tarnished will find a small stream flowing from Summonwater Village in the northwest. Follow the brook to the east to discover the hidden portal leading to the Bestial Sanctum of Dragonburrow. The Sending Gate will transport the player directly behind Black Blade Kindred, a boss who will remain dormant until adventurers challenge the beast from its front. Therefore, it is possible to slip by the boss from behind unnoticed. Continue south down the trail until nearing the Farum Greatbridge. A Dragon called Greyll will be patrolling this structure.

Here, Tarnished have two choices. They can head eastward and go down a mountain path full of poison traps to Lenne's Rise, or the player can brave the Greatbridge and dodge past the Dragon. Those who decide to cross will need to leap down to a Spiritspring Jump on the other side, as the cliff drop to Lenne's Rise will likely result in death. Next, rest at the Site of Grace, changing the time to nightfall. Face the Night's Calvary at the nearby footbridge to claim the Ash of War: Bloodhound's Step. Those looking for an easier means of taking down the dark rider can cheese the Field Boss by climbing atop the large branch jutting out near the southeastern side of the bridge. Here, Elden Ring players can cast ranged attacks and Spells freely at the boss, as the Night's Calvary has no means of retaliating.

Alternatively, those with quick reflexes can lead the horseman to the cliff opposite of the branch. Continue avoiding attacks and wait for the boss to use its leaping slam ability. If the player's position is correct, the Night's Calvary will jump straight down into the abyss below.
