NPP have strained relationship with BJP in the run up to the polls. Chief minister N Biren Singh on Wednesday told the media that his party would not ally with any other party except the NPF. The NPP met Governor La Ganesan at the Raj Bhavan and gave letters to him extending support to the BJP government.
