Southern Charm: Craig Conover Thought Time Apart From Naomie Would Help
In his upcoming book, Southern Charm star Craig Conover dives into details about his heartbreaking split from Naomie Olindo and admitted that he thought time apart would help their relationship. Reality TV fans watched Craig and Naomie's romance play out on screen. The former couple appeared to be the perfect pair for years until their relationship started experiencing different ups and downs. They tried working things out and even saw a counselor, but things didn't change. As a result, Craig and Naomie ended their relationship just before Southern Charm season 5.
Months after the Bravo stars' relationship ended, Naomie revealed that their relationship ended due to a million little things that added up. Eventually, they became different people and weren't able to get along. Naomie regretted all the times she was angry and wished she hadn't been that mean to him. The 25-year-old reality star also said her broken relationship was sad because she and Craig cared about each other. Fans have heard Naomie's view about the split a couple of times, with Craig not saying much about it as the former lovers moved on.
However, Craig has finally opened up about his split from Naomie. The 33-year-old TV personality revealed how his once beautiful romance with Naomie went down the drain. In his book Pillow Talk: What's Wrong with My Sewing?, Craig wrote that he believed some time apart would do "a world of good" in his and Naomie's relationship, but it only showed them how far apart they had become. In addition, the former couple believed the show accelerated things, and discussing their feelings on camera was a bad move. In an excerpt from the book made available to Us Weekly, Craig wrote, "You can't just clam up or walk away with the cameras rolling. You have to say something, and this is usually a gut response to whatever drama is going on. And, often, when it's a moment with your girlfriend, saying something is much, much worse than keeping your mouth shut. Because once those half-baked thoughts or feelings are out there, you are kind of forced to talk about them."
Fixing a relationship in the public eye is almost impossible, and Craig believed he and Naomie needed time away from the cameras to work things out. The former lovebirds had several discussions, but nothing seemed to work. However, despite their differences, Craig believed they could save their relationship. When Craig got his law degree, passed his bar test, got sworn in as a lawyer and bought a new house, he felt they could settle their differences as he had become the man he believed Naomie wanted.
Sadly, moving to a new home and getting a degree wasn't enough. Once Craig and Naomie moved into their new home, she suggested that they allow their friend Wilson to relocate with them as a renter. Craig wasn't fine with her proposal because he believed they didn't need a third party. Their little dispute eventually broke into an intense argument, and that was when Naomie said, "Craig, I don't love you anymore." After their argument, Craig moved out of the house, and the couple never got back together, as things worsened from then on.
Craig and his former Southern Charm co-star had one of the most heartbreaking splits in reality TV history. It is quite sad that the two Bravo stars were unable to fix their affair, as Craig's book and Naomie's previous statements confirmed that the breakup was painful on both ends. However, while the exes may never rekindle their love, it would be amazing to see the two work on being good friends, as this will help ease the tension their split caused.
