RHONJ: Teresa Giudice's Fiancé Luis Sued For Alleged Illegal Practices
Luis Ruelas, the fiancé of Teresa Giudice from The Real Housewives of New Jersey, is in some legal hot water as his company has been sued for alleged illegal practices. Teresa and Luis began a relationship in late 2020 after they met while out in New Jersey. The couple immediately hit it off, and Teresa was smitten. While the couple has been together since the summer of 2020, rumors of their relationship began in November 2020.
Teresa and Luis confirmed their relationship in December 2020, when the reality star shared a photo of the couple on Instagram snuggled up together while out to dinner. Since then, Teresa and Luis have been inseparable. After dating for a little over a year, Teresa and Luis got engaged while vacationing in Greece together alongside former RHONJ star Dina Manzo and her husband, Dave Cantin. Even though Teresa is in her "love bubble" with Luis, she may need to remove those rose-colored glasses and finally face who he really is.
In complaint files obtained by Page Six, throughout 2021, Luis' digital advertising company was accused of violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) at least three times. In January 2021, a man by the name of Graham Hooper from Florida alleged that businessman Luis' advertising company, Digital Media Solutions, engaged in "unsolicited text messaging with no regard for consumers’ privacy rights." While the case has since been dismissed, this doesn't look good for Luis. In the lawsuit, the texts were allegedly sent in June 2020 and offered services such as "free months of insurance" and car deals. The victim claims the text messages caused him harm, were an invasion of his privacy, and disrupted his daily life. The charge was a part of a class-action lawsuit that other people who made similar allegations were a part of. Everyone asked for a minimum of $500 in damages for the violations.
In 2021, Graham from Flordia decided to completely dismiss the cause; however, the reason why has not been made public. In a separate now-dismissed complaint filed by a Florida woman in July 2021, she alleged Luis, who was trolling fans online, and his company was cold calling her and sent her several unsolicited text messages. The messages included website links that would redirect to his products, including but not limited to "Quotza.com, which sells auto insurance quotes." However, this case was also dismissed earlier this month. There have been other compliments filed against Luis' company, such as being accused of "false advertisements" and "copyright infringements" by an Illinois-based company named Insurance King Agency, Inc. Luis was even named in a lawsuit for allegedly mismanaging funds for C.H. Robinson Worldwide, Inc, a vendor he worked with.
The several legal cases come shortly after Teresa confirmed she's not getting a prenup when she and Luis get married. Andy Cohen told her to rethink the idea of a prenup as it could save both her and Luis from financial disarray. After learning of these lawsuits, it seems Teresa should start protecting her family's finances despite her love for Luis.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST on Bravo.
