Everyone always mistakes my son for a girl – people say it’s because of how I dress him but I love him in a bonnet

SHE’S a mum-of-three who has always made sure her children look stylish and well presented.

But Kirsty’s love of dressing her kids in Spanish-style clothes and accessories means her one-year-old son Bodhi is often mistaken for a little girl.

Kirsty is a big fan of putting Bodhi in a bonnet, insisting: “Boys can dress pretty too”[/caption]

In fact, the error is made most days when Kirsty takes Bodhi out – especially when he dons the bonnets his mum loves so much.

But she insists she isn’t bothered by the remarks, and will never let them push her into changing his style.

“He gets mistaken for a girl most days especially when he wears his fur and bonnets, but it doesn’t bother me,” she told Fabulous.

“Boys can dress pretty too!”

And she often finds herself and Bodhi at the receiving end of compliments as well.

“I get lots of lovely comments when I’m out with Bodhi most days,” she smiled.

“People are really nice and complimentary somebody called him ‘fancy’ the other day which really made me laugh.”

Kirsty spends up to £70 a month on clothes for Bodhi – but makes money by selling on the outfits he’s grown out of.

And she’s not afraid to try out different looks on the tot.

But that’s not to say he’s managed to pull off every look she’s put him in.

“I dressed him a designer T-shirt and denim shorts once and it just wasn’t him,” she said.

She added if she had a £1 every time someone mistook Bodhi for a girl then she’d “be rich”[/caption]

As Bodhi is only one year old, he doesn’t mind what he’s dressed in.

But Kirsty added that she wouldn’t force a style on her son if he wasn’t keen.

“He’s just turned 1 so he doesn’t really care what I dress in him as long as he’s comfortable which he always is,” she said.

“If he didn’t want to dress this way then I wouldn’t force him.”
