In one of the first meetings with the Christian community recently, Barla, who comes from North Bengal, had met representatives from top Chrisitan bodies such as the National Council of Churches in India that represents 38 different denominations, the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India which is the umbrella body of Catholics and the Evangelical Fellowship of India that has around 65,000 churches under it.
