Donbass Forces Showcase Spanish Anti-Tank Weapon Captured From Ukrainian Military (Photos)
The armed forces of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) have captured a number of Spanish-made C90-CR (M3) rocket-propelled grenade launchers from the Ukrainian military.
On March 22, DPR forces showcased one of the captured C90-CR (M3) grenade launchers. According to the DPR, troops from the Ukrainian Ground Forces’ 54th Mechanized Brigade fled positions near the city of Novomikhailovka, leaving behind a number of these Spanish weapon systems.
The captured C90-CR (M3) grenade launchers entered service with the armed forces of the DPR, who have been taking part the Russian special military operation in Ukraine since its start on February 24.

The C90-CR (M3), which was developed by Spain’s defense contractor Instalaza SA, is a 90 mm disposable, shoulder-fired and one-man operated rocket-propelled grenade launcher. The variant captured by DPR forces, the C90-CR-AM, is armed with an anti-armor shaped charge with a special body that provides antipersonnel fragmentation.
The maximum range of the C90-CR (M3) is 350 meters. The launcher can be equipped with the VN38-C night vision device for full night combat capability.
Spain pledged to provide Ukraine with 1,370 C90-CR (M3) grenade launchers, an unspecified number of light machine guns and 700,000 bullets on March 2. The military aid was a part of ongoing Western efforts to hinder the Russian special operation in the country.
The C90-CR (M3) provides no new capabilities to Ukrainian forces. The grenade launcher can be compared to old Soviet systems like the RPG-18 and 22. The West has been fueling Ukraine with such weapons to prolong the war, hoping that this would exhaust the Russian military.
