The Simpler Life cast: Who is in the Channel 4 reality show line-up?
THE Simpler life is a brand new Channel 4 reality show with a difference.
The series sees a group of Brits leave behind their 21st century comforts for the summer to live by the principles of the Amish community.
Who is in the cast of The Simpler Life?
Penny
44-year-old Penny, decided to take part with her two daughters, Dilara, 15, and Azara, nine, after a health scare.
She previously worked as a Footballers’ PA and says she has a liking for the “finer things in life”.
Penny decided to change her life after becoming seriously ill with Covid.
Being left unable to move in a hospital bed, she made the decision to make some changes in her families lives.

Kevin
25-year-old Kevin is going it alone on the show.
He hails from Wigan and has a very positive outlook on life.
Kevin says he wants to make “lifelong friends” on the show.
Jacob and Poppy
Meet Jacob, 21, and his 16-year-old sister Poppy.
The siblings are both students from Manchester.
Jack has admitted to being scared of animals, while Poppy says she is a “strong woman” and won’t be afraid to challenge the views of others.

Jamie and Jerome
Twin brothers Jamie and Jerome, 21, are from South London
They work in the NHS and run a successful Youtube Channel called TwinsovTwins.
They confess to being city boys and want to learn new experiences about the countryside through the experiment.
Joseph and Victoria
Couple Joseph, 34, and Victoria, 28, are from West London.
The loved up pair met at a Tinder event.
Joseph runs a PR company and Victoria is a content creator, so they’re both keen to step away from their work-heavy lives and discover their true selves.
Harry
Harry is 40-years-old and from Gloucestershire
He is a pub manager by trade, and runs a bar in the Cotswolds.
Harry says that lockdown forced him into a period of self-reflection.
Maty
24-year-old Maty hails from Bristol.
She is a model and waitress, who was recently diagnosed with ADHD.
Maty says she struggles and often feels overwhelmed, but is hoping that the structure of life on the farm will help her manage her ADHD symptoms.
Fran
Fran is a 33-year-old project manager.
She moved to Liverpool during lockdown for a change and admits her addictions are scrolling and bad dates.
Fran hopes this experience will give her what she’s looking for to truly thrive.
Andrew and Gary
Couple Andrew, 53, and Gary, 50, are also part of the line-up.
They are doing the show with their adopted sons Ki, 11, and Tommy, six.
The family are swapping their life in Portsmouth for the Amish way of life.
Darren and Hazel
Engaged couple Darren, 48, and Hazel, 52, are from Bradford.
She is a former special needs inclusion manager who now works for social services, and Darren is a former special needs support assistant.
They told the Sun how ditching their phone, TV, electricity, and gas to live by the rules of the Amish community has helped to drastically improve their health.
Hazel, who quit her job as a special needs Inclusion Manager to take part in the programme, told us: “I was stressed. I worked long hours and I used to get my laptop out in the evening, and would carry on working.
“My blood pressure was very high, and I had been taking Ramipril for seven years to help it.”
Toby
Toby is 56 from Lincolnshire.
He dramatically quit the show in the first episode, and walked SIX hours to the nearest train station.
Toby said on the show: “I struggle sometimes with picking up other people’s negative energy, it can wear me out. If I need to get away from it I come up to my room however that is deemed as not being particularly community-minded but it’s the only place I can get where I can get some me-time.”
Frankie and Keely
Couple Frankie, 35, and Keely, 32, are taking on the Amsih way of life.
They are joined on the show by their children Dylan, 10 and Dolcie, eight,.
The family are swapping their home in Norfolk for life on the farm.
Who is the Amish family?
The cast taking part are joined by a real life Amish family who teach them the way of life.
Lloyd and Edna, both 55, are from Millersburg, Ohio.
They have six children and seven grandchildren and have been married for 34 years.
They live on their own organic dairy farm in Ohio where they have 60 cows and start their day at 3.30am.
Three of their children, Judy, 20, Japheth, 22, and Jerald, 25, will feature on the show.
Lloyd Miller said: “I hurt for the younger generation, who are so isolated and plugged into technology – there is nothing like a physical handshake or eye contact.

When is The Simpler Life on TV?
The show kicked off on March 22, 2022 on Channel 4.
You can catch every Tuesday at 9.15pm and at 9pm on Wednesday.
Any missed episodes can be watched on All 4.
