North Korea launches long range ballistic missile capable of reaching U.S., Japan and South Korea say

North Korea fired a suspected intercontinental ballistic missile Thursday, Japanese defense officials said, which traveled a distance that could reach the U.S. mainland, in Pyongyang’s most powerful weapons test since 2017.
