I asked my tattoo artist for a Medusa – she completely botched it and now ‘gaslights me’ after I called her out on it

AFTER sitting for a tattoo so painful she “couldn’t even think,” one woman was left reeling by the amateurish execution of the design.

Now, her tattoo artist reportedly refuses to refund what her client says was the worst of her six tattoo experiences.

Aleyna Renae, who only goes by her first and middle name online, said she “waited years” for her tattoo.

The final result she posted to TikTok was a huge disappointment that left her crying for a full day.

The reference photos Aleyna took to her tattoo artist show a stone Medusa, with a cracked face, floral accents, and elaborate serpent spirals for hair.

The end result of her own tattoo, though, left something to be desired.

SECOND THOUGHTS

I got ‘random’ tattoos from Pinterest – I wish I had a time machine

Aleyna showed off the snakes’ cartoonish faces, with simple details that looked more at home on an emoji.

Uneven linework and shading on Medusa’s face and hair emphasized off-kilter elements, including what one commenter labeled a “lazy eye.”

“Ink Master judges would rip her apart,” another viewer wrote, while several asked if Aleyna had reached out to the tattoo artist with her complaints.

“The tattoo artist has been blowing up my phone,” Aleyna said. “She’s refusing to refund me and gaslighting me!”

“You should see the 50 texts in a row she sent me,” Aleyna added.

Most of the commenters came to Aleyna’s defense, calling the design unacceptable, but one person accused her of being inattentive.

“You didn’t look down while she was doing it?” the viewer wrote.

“She was doing the tattoo so deep that I was biting down on my jacket while sobbing the whole time,” Aleyna explained. “I was in so much pain I couldn’t even think.”

Professional tattoo artists in the comments did reassure the dissatisfied customer that her design would be fixable, though it may take considerable effort to re-shade the weakest spots.

Some even offered to help Aleyna re-work the design, and she said those offers “mean the world to her.”

And the experience hasn’t put her off tattoos completely.

“This is my sixth one, and all my other ones, I had great experiences with great artists,” she wrote. “I have no idea what happened here.”
