The 30-year-old star revealed in a TikTok video that he had the “worst breakup” in his entire life in 2019.

Puth shared that he has a new song coming out that will reflect on the breakup.

“I’m really excited for the song to come out, but every time I hear it, I’m kind of brought back to a time that was really, really, really challenging in my life,” he told his TikTok followers.

“It just rears its ugly head every time — sorry — every time that I hear it,” Puth wiped tears away from his eyes as he spoke.

He continued adding that 2019 was the “f–kin’ worst year” for him.

Who has Charlie Puth dated?

Although he did not specifically name who the song was about in his TikTok post, speculation has been made that it is about his most recent serious ex-girlfriend.

Puth and singer Charlotte Lawrence, 21, dated for a total of seven months according to Page Six.

Lawrence is known for being a friend of the Kardashians, as she has been seen on social media hanging out with Kendall and Kylie.

The former couple went Instagram official for Valentine’s Day 2019 and split in September 2019.

Lawrence has made several breakup songs such as her July 2019 single Why Do You Love Me.

“I never told people what happened to me and the pain that I went through going through the worst breakup of my life in 2019,” he continued in his TikTok post.

“I just wanted to throw it under the carpet and just start over and surround myself with better people.”

Puth was also linked to briefly dating the hit singer Selena Gomez the outlet reported.

In September 2019, he took to Twitter to confirm his split from Lawrence.

“Only because I want ppl to stop asking the question….Yes I am single now…and please dont believe everything you read…thank you,” he wrote.

Despite the bitter news on his TikTok video, Puth fans were excited to hear that new music is coming from the singer.

His last album titled Voicenotes was released four years ago in 2018.

His new breakup single could potentially be a part of a new album.
