Joe Millionaire: Kurt Knew He Wouldn't Choose Carolyn On Final Date

0

Kurt Sowers had a tough decision to make on the Joe Millionaire finale, but according to the bachelor, he already knew on his final date with Carolyn Moore that he wasn't going to choose her. The show gained a lot of popularity throughout its season 1 run, and fans were absolutely shocked when Kurt chose Amanda Pace over Carolyn, who he'd made an instant connection with from the first episode. The dramatic finale may have offered fans a lot to talk about, but the real drama unraveled afterward. Kurt, Caroline, and Amanda have all spoken out with their sides of the story, and it's certainly got fans talking.

It didn't take long after the finale aired for news to break that Kurt and Amanda had broken up not long after filming ended, and Amanda was quick to speak out about why things didn't work out between her and the construction CEO. According to the former contestant, Kurt was not emotionally available and not what she was looking for in a partner. Carolyn, on the other hand, gave fans an inside scoop into her Instagram DMs, where she claims Kurt appeared immediately after splitting from Amanda. The contestant says he apologized for not choosing her and admitted he made a huge mistake. According to Kurt, he doesn't regret the choice he made, and his intentions were never to get together with Carolyn as he doesn't see a future between them.

There seems to be a lot of he said she said going on with the Joe Millionaire cast, but Kurt has set the record straight that he knew he was choosing Amanda before filming the finale episode. Kurt stopped by The Right Reality Podcast to tell his side of the story and revealed to the podcast hosts that his choice at the end of the season was not on a whim. When asked about how things went down, the bachelor revealed that he already decided before his final date with Carolyn that he wasn't going to choose her. "I had decided before that I was not gonna choose Carolyn, and then we went on that other date, and I was like damn it," Kurt explained. While he'd already made his decision, he admitted it was difficult going on the date with her, knowing in the back of his mind that he wasn't going to choose her.

From Carolyn's perspective, the contestant has said that she had a pretty good feeling that she wouldn't be leaving the manor with Kurt. The biggest issue between the pair was that Carolyn had previously been married and shared a son with her ex-husband. In order to co-parent effectively, the Orlando native is on civil terms with her ex-husband. However, Kurt had a lot of insecurities around her still being in contact with her ex. Apparently, the conversation came up several times, and Carolyn had to reassure him that it wasn't a problem. It was then that she realized Kurt couldn't overlook her relationship with her ex, and it was too much for him to choose her.

The show certainly made it seem that Kurt was struggling with his decision down to the minute they shot the finale, but then again, reality tv isn't always as real as it claims to be. While the bachelor had made his mind up, it didn't take away from his feelings for Carolyn. The two had intense chemistry all season long, and it was clear that sending her home was hard on him. While Kurt may have been confident in his decision, it, unfortunately, didn't work out; hopefully, he'll have a better chance at finding love outside of the Joe Millionaire manor.
