[Baseball] Offensive Outburst leads to 17-5 victory for SXU over RU

Crestwood, Ill. – The Saint Xavier University baseball team (23-4, 7-1 CCAC) tied its season-high for runs in a game in a 17-5 triumph over Roosevelt University (Ill.) in game one of their three-game series in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) contest Friday afternoon at Ozinga Field in Crestwood, Ill. Sophomore outfielder Daniel Barrios (Manteno, Ill./Manteno) led the way with four RBI's and went 2-for-4 at the plate with three runs scored and a triple. Senior infielder Jimmy Smyth (Oak Forest, Ill./Tennessee Wesleyan/South Suburban/Robert Morris/Oak Forest) drove in three runs, two off of sacrifice flies, with a stolen base and scored a run. Smyth now has a team-best 36 RBI's on the season.
