[Men's Golf] Men's Golf Takes Third in Home Meet

Doane Men's Golf hosted the Doane Spring Invite on Friday and Saturday with the Tigers' varsity squad bringing home third place while also grabbing fifth and seventh place with two more teams competing out of 10 total.

The varsity squad was led by Andrew Paquette (JR/Beatrice, Neb.) with a third place finish and score of 150 (79-71). Micah Ramirez (SR/Loveland, Colo.) was 11th with a 157 (78-79) and Blake Andersen (JR/Grand Junction, Colo.) tied for 12th with a 158 (79-79). Blake Skoumal (FR/Omaha, Neb.) finished in a tie for 21st with a 164 (86-78) and Sam Arnold (FR/Elkhorn, Neb.) tied for 28th with a 167 (87-80).

The second grouping was paced by Riley Podliska (JR/Lincoln, Neb.) with a 6th place finish as he shot a 153 (79-74). Ryan Weiss (SO/Franklin, Neb.) finished with a 158 (77-81) to tie for 12th. Josh Spomer (JR/Lincoln, Neb.) tied for 26th with a 166 (83-83) and Tyler Crandon (SR/Lincoln, Neb.) tied for 30th with Noah Miller (FR/Papillion, Neb.) as they both posted scores of 168 (82-86/83-85).

The third squad was led by Connor Podliska (FR/Lincoln, Neb.) as he tied for 23rd with a 165 (84-81). Riley Mitchell (JR/Fort Calhoun, Neb.) tied for 33rd with a 169 (80-89) and Garrett Dalton (SO/Parker, Colo.) placed 39th with a 173 (86-87). Karsten Kern (SO/Sioux Falls, S.D.) tied for 46th with a 180 (89-91) and Samuel Banzhaf (SO/Overton, Neb.) placed 50th with a 187 (100-87).

The varsity team shot a 629 (322-307), with the second team shooting a 644 (321-323) and the third team posting a 683 (339-344). Morningside was the team champion with a 600 (307-293).
