Bachelor: Susie Evans Pokes Fun At Clayton Echard's Fame Via IG Story
The Bachelor season 26 winner Susie Evans is poking fun at her "celebrity boyfriend" Clayton Echard in a series of posts on social media, and Clayton has already responded to her jokes. The journey for Clayton and Susie's relationship on The Bachelor was one of the wildest storylines in the history of the franchise. After her elimination in the final three spot, Clayton decided that Susie was the one for him, thus ditching his final two finalists Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia.
As a result, Gabby and Rachel have now been chosen to be featured as co-leads for The Bachelorette season 19. Meanwhile, despite the criticism from Bachelor Nation for how Clayton and Susie handled their relationship throughout their season, the couple is moving forward in their relationship and not letting the fans come in between them. Despite the understandable heartbreak that Gabby and Rachel felt, Clayton and Susie are clearly in love and they are enjoying the honeymoon phase of their relationship post-The Bachelor.
In a recent series of Instagram Stories, Susie Evans shared a screenshot of a FaceTime call between her and Clayton Echard. As seen in the screenshots below, Susie was looking right at the camera but Clayton appeared to be distracted by another cellphone. Susie captioned the first post with, "What it's like FaceTiming when your [boyfriend] is a celebrity [eye roll emoji]." She followed that up with a different Instagram Story where she looked very peaceful, writing: "How I'm going to sleep knowing [Clayton] will soon see that last IG Story..." Susie is clearly teasing her new boyfriend now that he is a famous reality TV star with lots of commitments.
Later, Clayton reposted Susie's Instagram Story and humorously clapped back at her claim that he was seemingly too famous now to pay attention to her on FaceTime. "[laughing emoji] Selling me out, really?! Sankey Sue!! [snake emoji]," Clayton wrote in his re-post. This back-and-forth between Clayton and Susie is clearly just two lovebirds teasing each other as they manage their new relationship alongside their newfound fame. With that said, it's a cute interaction that might help Bachelor Nation fans get on their good side. For the most part, Susie hasn't seemed too concerned with she's being perceived by the fandom. In turn, Clayton has struggled with certain comments made about him and/or his season.
All things considered, The Bachelor viewers disliked Clayton as a lead from the beginning. It didn't help that his season ended on such a dramatic and heartbreaking cultivation of events. Alas, Clayton and Susie are now doing their part to have a successful relationship despite the critics on social media.
The Bachelorette season 19 premieres Monday, July 11 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
