The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of Apex Legends are out now

0

The new-generation versions of Apex Legends are available now.

On Tuesday, Respawn finally released native PS5 and Xbox Series X|S ports of Apex Legends as part of the Warriors Collection Event. Of course, the battle royale phenomenon was playable on both consoles already, but only through backwards compatibility. Some graphical bells and whistles include 4K resolutions, full 60hz gameplay, HDR support, better-looking shadows, and much farther draw distances. That last one helps with spotting snipers, by the way.

Respawn is planning on more new-generation updates too. Stuff like 120hz gameplay on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, along with more visual and audio improvements. The PS5 version should also see more adaptive trigger and haptics support for the DualSense controller. However, there’s no timeline on when any of this is coming out.

This update also brings loads of minor improvements, which you can read here

It’s been a big month for Apex Legends in general. Alongside this update, registration for the mobile version opened up in North America. There was also that massive leak revealing several yet-to-be-announced weapons, legends, and more, but we likely won’t see how much of that ends up in the actual game for years.
