Martin Lewis fights back tears on Lorraine as he admits he has ‘grave concerns’ amid cost of living crisis
MARTIN Lewis fought back tears as he appeared on Lorraine today to continue the discussion of the cost of living crisis – admitting he has “grave concerns”.
The money saving expert was full of emotion after spending two hours prior to that with Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain for a special of the show.
He told Lorraine he was “worried people might not get through” due to the price hikes, particularly those who are vulnerable.
Explaining what he would do if he was in power, Martin told Lorraine: “I would be giving a lot more money to people who are vulnerable, especially people with disabilities who have to use more electricity and water.
“People are in a genuinely devastating situation at the moment and I worry some people won’t get through.”
He went on to say some of the examples he has seen, leaving Lorraine shocked.

Earlier in the morning, Martin spoke about the issues on Good Morning Britain as he hosted the special phone in.
He said : “I am gravely concerned about the situation that many people will face over the next 12 months.
“And one of the problems we have is that a lot of the tools we have for the people with the least income, they are predicated on the idea that you have your income and your expenditure and the way that this works is reduce people’s expenditure to below their income.
“We have got to the stage where for many people that is simply not possible no matter what we do and that is why I have been calling for political intervention.”

Families are facing higher bills as the cost of living crunch continues to impact budgets across the UK – and rising energy costs are pushing cash-strapped households to the brink.
Households will see their bills double to an average of £1,971 from Friday, April 1 when the price cap – which limits how much suppliers can charge customers for energy – goes up.
The price cap is also expected to go up again in October to keep up with record market prices and the cost of supplier failures.
