How to Unlock the Colosseum in Kirby and the Forgotten Land
In Kirby and the Forgotten Land, players will want to unlock the Colosseum to revisit bosses in quick succession, a staple feature in Kirby games. Players will need to progress through the game and defeat several bosses before they unlock the Colosseum and their chance at a rematch. Additionally, the Colosseum is home to a unique boss, Meta Knight.
Like most buildings in the game, the Colosseum is found in Waddle Dee Town. However, the Colosseum is not unlocked after finding a specific number of Waddle Dees. Instead, players will need to clear the Wondaria Remains area in Kirby and the Forgotten Land and the region's boss, Clawroline, before they can use the Colosseum. Players will find this boss once they rescue enough Waddle Dees to unlock the level in the Big Top titled Danger Under the Big Top.
This cheetah-inspired boss will dart quickly around the arena, slashing at players with her large claws. Ranger may be the best option from the available abilities to choose from in the arena, as players can keep their distance from her quick attacks and shoot from farther away. This ability is especially effective if players have already upgraded it to Noble Ranger, which does increased damage. Once players defeat this boss in Kirby and the Forgotten Land, they will immediately receive a notification that the Colosseum is unlocked and that the Meta Knight Cup has begun.
The Meta Knight fight is unique to the Colosseum and is more difficult than the story bosses until this point in the game. Commentator Waddle Dee is in a stand out front of the Colosseum, and this NPC advises players to defeat all the bosses for a special reward. Additionally, players will learn that Meta Knight is here from Planet Popstar to challenge them for the title of champion.
Before beginning the cup, players should return to Waddle Dee's Weapon Shop located in Waddle Dee Town in Kirby and the Forgotten Land to choose their preferred abilities. Once players are ready to enter the Meta Knight Cup, they should register at the stand outside the Colosseum. Upon entering, players are given the option to eat Maxim Tomatoes and have two ability options. The first boss players face is Wild Frosty, who fights with ice attacks and resembles a yeti. Next up is Wild Bonkers, who is a blue primate. After defeating these two bosses, players return to the locker room to heal and change abilities if they choose.
When players reenter the arena, they will face Tropic Wood, a giant palm tree that blows coconut bombs at the player. Once players win this match, they will face Kirby and the Forgotten Land's Gorimondo, a punk-styled gorilla with a spinning attack covering most of the arena. Players will have another chance to heal in the locker room again before challenging Wild Edge. Immediately following this fight, players will face Fleurina, a white ballerina swan. Again, players will have a chance to heal and change abilities in the locker room before their rematch with Clawroline, the cheetah boss with lethal claws.
Before facing the final boss of the cup, Meta Knight, players will have one more locker room respite to heal and choose their preferred abilities. He is faster than most other enemies and wields a golden sword that can launch a ranged attack and strike in close combat. Because of this boss's difficulty, players should carefully choose their abilities in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. At the midpoint in the fight, Meta Knight files into the arena and causes the ceiling to collapse, resulting in plummeting boulders covering most of the arena. Additionally, Meta Knight uses a charged attack that covers most of the arena.
