Elden Ring: Where To Find The One-Eyed Shield | Screen Rant
The One-Eyed Shield is a Greatshield in Elden Ring with a built-in flamethrower that can blast fireballs from the mouth of the head-shaped armament. This unique skill is known as Flame Spit and transforms the shield into a Monster Hunter-style armored cannon, shooting a projectile similar to the Flame Sling Incantation or a thrown Fire Pot. As a result, the One-Eyed Shield in Elden Ring can be used both as an offensive and defensive weapon, scaling primarily off of Strength.
To wield the One-Eyed Shield in Elden Ring, Tarnished fighters will need a Strength 36, and they must also ensure they have an adequate Equip Load since the armament is rather heavy, weighing 20.5. Furthermore, users should bear in mind that the gun-cocking animation before the fiery projectile is released lasts about a second and a half, leaving them potentially vulnerable for a brief moment. Nevertheless, the Flame Spit shoots almost immediately, which can take enemies by surprise.
The location of the One-Eyed Shield in Elden Ring is Guardian's Garrison, a small fort that Tarnished travelers will pass as they ascend towards the Forge of the Giants. More specifically, the Greatshield is the guaranteed drop from an Elden Ring mini-boss named Chief Guardian Arghanthy, the leader of the garrison who can be found atop the bastion's rampart.
To reach Guardian's Garrison in Elden Ring, Tarnished travelers must defeat Morgott, the Omen King of Leyndell, to access the Forbidden Lands, the road to the Grand Lift of Rold. The garrison is on the eastern side of the Mountaintops of the Giants, so the Haligtree Secret Medallion is not needed to enter the region. After arriving at the Freezing Lake in the north, travel south across the ice towards the First Church of Marika. Be mindful of the lake's guardian, Borealis the Freezing Fog, a dragon that spawns in a thick, icy mist. Tarnished can either defeat or run past this optional Field Boss.
Near the front of the First Church of Marika, turn right and head up the slope towards the Whiteridge Road. Be careful of a giant-headed bipedal wolf monster that will attempt to ambush the player along the way. After reaching the Guardian's Garrison, enter through the main gate and go to the left and up the ladder. Go to the right side of the area and walk up the wooden platform winding around the tower. At the top, Arghanthy will emerge to challenge the player. Once defeated, he will drop the One-Eyed Shield for the player's taking.
Elden Ring is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
