Friends: 10 Funniest Quotes From Supporting Characters, According To Reddit
It is no secret that the six main characters on the sitcom, Friends, are all incredibly hilarious and have some of the most laugh-out-loud lines on the show. However, the show is not just great because of its lead characters, but also because of its supporting characters.
The show had excellent writing and so, the side characters also said some of the best lines. There have been plenty of supporting and guest characters on the 90s sitcom and many of them have had undeniably comedic quotes that fans love to remember.
10 Jack Geller
"Well, You Can't Ask Us, Son. That's Cheating."
The father of Monica and Ross, Jack Geller, is one of the funniest characters in the show. He said this quote during Monica and Chandler's wedding episode when Chandler disappears and Ross asks him about it. Since Ross didn't want anyone to panic, he covers by saying that they are playing hide and seek and this was Jack's hilarious reply.
Fans of the show are extremely fond of the character. The Redditor, lucyindsgs, post this quote by him and says, "Jack by far is my favorite character." They also show their appreciation for the actor by commenting, "I just love him in everything I've seen him in. But especially in the Ocean's. He's remarkable, what a guy."
9 Amy Green
"Listen, I Was Just Thinking. You Know What Would Be Incredible? If You Guys Died!"
Rachel's family is not by any means a normal, loving, and healthy family. Amy Green, her older sister is one of them and she is probably the weirdest of the Greens. A Reddit user, sheherselfandher, names one of her quotes and argues, "She has so many good ones, it's hard to choose."
Amy got obsessed with the idea of being the godmother for Rachel's daughter, Emma. This was very strange, given the fact that she didn't seem to care for the baby at all and couldn't even remember her name most of the time. She talks about Rachel and Ross dying like it would be an amazing thing so that she could get the baby.
8 Eddie
"No No No, I Wanna Hear It From Your Lips."
A neurotic roommate that no one would ever want to have, Eddie, is that annoying character that anyone would hate in real life but on-screen will make them laugh uncontrollably.
A Redditor, moonlight995, talks about one of his quotes. When Chandler tries to get rid of him and tell him to move out, he angrily declares that he wants to hear Chandler say it from his lips like he has been speaking from somewhere else until then. Many fans seem to love him a lot and one Reddit user, Peanut-n-cookie, wishes that Eddie has his spin-off show.
7 Frank Jr.
"My Sister Is Going To Have My Baby!!!"
Frank Jr is one of the most memorable side characters of the early seasons. He was Phoebe's half-brother and his unique antics make him one of the funniest characters. A Reddit user, DogeShibElon2DMoon, shares one of his quotes where Pheobe agrees to be the surrogate mother for his baby and he proudly announces that his sister is going to have his baby.
He used poor choices of words to express his happiness and it is wildly hilarious. It's not that surprising that he said that inappropriate sentence because he is Phoebe's brother and she is known to say wildly inappropriate things funnily.
6 Dr. Leonard Green
"What's New With You, Geller? Knocked Up Any More Of My Daughters Lately?
Rachel's dad, Dr. Green is a grumpy and hateful character and even though, he insults people all the time, his vile behavior can be funny as well sometimes. A Redditor, MOO__POINT, points out one of Dr. Green's best lines that he says to Ross.
He always hated Ross because of the tumultuous nature of Ross and Rachel's relationship and the fact that he got Rachel pregnant. One time when he meets Ross, he sarcastically comments about whether Ross has been knocking up any more of his daughters. Ross's reaction at that is also extremely amusing.
5 Will Colbert
"My Two Greatest Enemies Rachel Green And Complex Carbohydrates."
One of the funniest guest stars of the show, Brad Pitt appeared in season 8 episode 9 as Will Colbert. He hated Rachel in high school and apparently, still hates her just as severely. A Redditor, pinkicee, points out his super funny line which depicts his hatred for Rachel and complex carbohydrates.
Another fan on Reddit, hanimal16, agrees with them and shares what they find so funny in the scene, "That fake hair swipe gets me every time."
4 Melissa Warburton
"Yeah, I Don’t…Picture Your Face When I Make Love To My Boyfriend."
There have been many great guest stars on Friends, and Winona Ryder was one of them. She played an old friend of Rachel's who is lovesick with her. She and Rachel kiss but she doesn't admit it at first but once she does, she desperately wants to kiss her again.
Winona Ryder is incredibly funny in the scene as she awkwardly reveals just how much crazy she is about Rachel because she pictures her face when making love to her partner. 3 Janice
"Call Me If You Need A Hand."
Janice is probably one of the most popular side characters of Friends, thanks to her eccentric personality, voice, and that iconic laugh. She has many great lines on the show but the one that a Reddit user, StoryLines2018, mentions is "when Chandler and Monica met her accidentally (as always) in the hospital when they went to do fertility tests" and she teases Chandler because he is getting nervous.
Janice jokingly adds that he can call for her if he needs help and she will lend a hand. This wasn't all, she then goes on to laugh in her unique Janice way, making the scene cringeworthy as well as extra comedic.
2 The Hand Twin
“If You Leave Right Now I Will Chop Off My Hand And Give It To You!”
One of the funniest episodes of Friends, "The One In Vegas Part 1 & 2" sees Joey meeting his identical hand twin, who worked in a casino. He just wants to do his job but Joey incessantly keeps on nagging him until he snaps and offers to cut off his hand and give it to him.

She talks his ear off, detailing her entire relationship with Ross. He pretends not to listen but then he snaps at Rachel and takes Ross' side on the whole 'were they on a break or not' debate. Another user, urabura123456, talks about the quote and comments, "The purest form of satisfaction".
