My Hero Academia Reveals Deku's One Power That Could Destroy All For One
Warning: spoilers ahead for My Hero Academia chapter 349!
In its latest chapter, My Hero Academia adds to fan speculation over the second One For All user's identity, but it also drops some heavy hints that this user's meta ability is likely the key to Izuku Midoriya (aka Deku) defeating All For One.
In the latest chapter of My Hero Academia, the vestige of the second One For All user comes to speak with Deku as the young hero speeds off from the fight between Ochako Uraraka and Himiko Toga back to his battle against Shigaraki Tomura. As Deku rushes there, the second user warns Deku about using his meta ability, which the young hero apparently attempted once before, referring to its usage as a last resort since his ability has evolved into a unique power that can no longer be wielded as it once was, due to One For All's simultaneous increase in strength.
Before now, all readers knew about this mysterious user was that he led the fight against All For One's new world order and had been willing to kill anyone for that goal - even All For One's brother and the first One For All user Yoichi - before changing his mind, which inadvertently caused the power of One For All to begin growing. The second user also initially refused to accept Deku as the current successor of One For All before Yoichi convinced him otherwise.
This has left readers speculating what this meta ability is and, based on Deku's indication that he's tried to use it before, if they have seen this attempt in a previous chapter without even realizing it. The fact that the user refers to his meta ability as a last resort creates the impression that it could be incredibly powerful to the point where activating it could result in numerous people getting hurt or could just hurt Deku if summoned incorrectly, like how Deku was once injury prone every time he wielded One For All. The former possibility is what creates the impression that the user's meta ability could very well be strong enough to destroy All For One, as last resorts in shonen stories are usually successful, not to mention highly entertaining.
Another point of interest among fans is what this mysterious user means by how the quirk has become "unique" and how it can no longer be wielded as it was originally. Undoubtedly, one of the most unique quirks in both how it is wielded and what it does is Mirio's Permeation quirk and super moves. This is mostly because of how the full activation of his quirk doesn't just allow him to go through objects but causes gravity to drag him down, while deactivation when phasing through objects will result in his body automatically repelling to the surface. Could the second user's quirk be just as unique or even more so than Mirio's? The thought is definitely invigorating and the prospect of Deku leveraging such an ability has excited My Hero Academia fans everywhere.
