Elden Ring Invader Recruits Runebear To Defeat Their Target

0

A dastardly Elden Ring invader managed to defeat rival players by calling a powerful Runebear to their aid. FromSoftware's open-world epic features multiplayer mechanics which allow Tarnished warriors to compete or cooperate online. Multiplayer in FromSoftware games can often lead to unique and humorous moments, like an Elden Ring waving death fall or a brutal Runebear attack.

Elden Ring features a similar multiplayer system to Dark Souls and Bloodborne, allowing players to use special items to trigger online interactions. Players in need of aid can summon other Tarnished players to their world, allowing the two adventurers to work together in order to defeat one of The Lands Between's powerful bosses. Hostile players can invade the worlds of other Elden Ring players, too, with the goal of killing them to earn rewards. However, players can be summoned to help defend against invaders, leading to large brawls between multiple Tarnished. These multiplayer interactions can lead to amazing moments, like an Elden Ring player who quits PvP after their opponent pulled off an extremely impressive parry.

Displaying the improvisational nature of Elden Ring PvP, Reddit user Swagspear69 invaded a player and used a Runebear to easily overcome their opponents. Runebears are massive bear monsters that typically roam The Lands Between, but one normal enemy actually transforms into a Runebear upon death. Swagspear69 lured their two enemies up a cliff, making them accidentally attack the transforming enemy. The Runebear then brought the fight to an early close by brutalizing both targets, allowing Swagspear69 to quickly finish the job and return to their own world before the Runebear could kill them too.

While rival players are always a big challenge in Elden Ring, the wildlife found throughout The Lands Between is often an even greater threat. One particularly bizarre examples see an Elden Ring glitch make dogs stronger than bosses by causing ridiculously overpowered bleed damage. The inconspicuous Rotten Stray enemy may look like a sickly dog, but a special attack combo actually allows the foe to trigger the Blood Loss status effect almost instantly. This deals a massive amount of damage to the player quickly, and it ignores all defense and health stats, making the unassuming dog a great threat. However, the Rotten Stray is still less deadly than an angry Runebear.

Elden Ring players can quickly find themselves outnumbered during PvP, so calling in backup is always a good idea. However, Swagspear69 was able to use trickery to get help from an unstoppable angry Runebear rather than another player. The clever strategy led to an easy victory for the invader, and it no doubt led to frustration for their hapless opponent.
