New Pacific Rim: The Black Season 2 Poster Teases Kaiju Action
A new poster for Season 2 of the Netflix anime series Pacific Rim: The Black teases more Kaiju action. Set after the events of the live-action 2018 sequel, Pacific Rim: Uprising, the animated show follows two young siblings, Taylor and Hayley, as they search for their parents who disappeared in a giant Jaeger five years earlier. While surviving in a community of refugees, the brother and sister stumble upon an abandoned weaponless training Jaeger called the Atlas Destroyer. Unfortunately, during the giant robot's activation procedure, Taylor and Hayley attract a nearby Kaiju that destroys the refugee community. The two must figure out a way to work together to pilot the Jaeger and find their parents in a monster-infested wasteland.
More intense Kaiju action is teased in a recently released poster for Season 2 of Pacific Rim: The Black. The poster shows the siblings' Jaeger facing off against a Kaiju in the Australian desert with two different monsters in the background, ready to attack. Check out the full poster below.
Season 1 of Pacific Rim: The Black ended with more questions than answers. In the final episode of the season, Taylor and Hayley finally find their parents' Jaeger, the Hunter Vertigo, but their parents are nowhere to be seen. Mei, a former mercenary for the violent Bogan faction, has only revealed hints of her backstory, leaving plenty of room for discovery in season 2. The mysterious mute orphan boy, simply called bOy, has revealed that he is actually a human-Kaiju hybrid by transforming into a giant glowing monster to protect Hayley against a four-legged Kaiju called Copperhead. bOy's Kaiju looks strikingly similar to the Kaiju battling the Atlas Destroyer in the poster, possibly hinting at a major reversal from the siblings' ally.
Season 2 finds Taylor, Hayley, Mei, and bOy still making their way to Sydney within the Atlas Destroyer while avoiding a religious cult called the Sisters of the Kaiju. These zealots believe that bOy is their messiah and they will stop at nothing to capture him. Although many of the story details of Pacific Rim: The Black season 2 have been kept under wraps, fans can hope some of their questions will be answered with the show's return to Netflix on April 19.
