Creed 3 Set Photos Reveal Ripped Jonathan Majors' Villain Training
Set photos from Creed 3 reveal a ripped Jonathan Majors as his villain character trains on a beach. Michael B. Jordan starred in Warner Bros.' 2015 relaunch of the Rocky franchise, where he began playing Adonis Creed, the son of Rocky's opponent-turned-friend Apollo Creed. Despite plenty of hesitation upon its announcement, Creed proved to be a huge hit under Ryan Coogler's direction and it didn't take long for franchise plans to develop around Jordan. This included him returning to star in Creed II a few years later and the more recent development of him also deciding to direct Creed III.
Plot details are largely under wraps for what will happen in Creed 3. Jordan's return comes alongside Tessa Thompson's return as Bianca, who was engaged to Adonis at the end of Creed II. It is not expected that Sylvester Stallone will be back as Rocky Balboa, though, as his time with the franchise appears to have finally reached a conclusion. One of the only details that is known about Creed 3 is that Jonathan Majors is set to play the villain. Fans have speculated that he could be the son of former villain Clubber Lang, continuing the legacy element of the franchise.
Production is currently underway on Creed 3, and new set photos have provided a great look at Majors' villain. The Daily Mail shared a few photos of Majors taking part in a training sequence on the beach. He was photographed running on the beach with a resistance parachute strapped to his back. Several other photos show the physical transformation the actor underwent to play Creed 3's villain, as Majors' ripped physique is clear through various shirtless images.
Jonathan Majors' role in Creed 3 is the latest big production he's been part of, and another chance for him to play a villain. The actor made a surprise debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as He Who Remains in Loki season 1's finale. He's set to reprise that role as Kang the Conqueror in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Majors' villainous turn in Creed 3 should be incredibly different from his MCU experience, as the actor has teased Jordan's intimate and different story for the sequel.
These Creed 3 set photos might not provide any new details about the identity of Majors' character, but they do clearly establish the physical threat he'll pose to Adonis Creed in the ring. His ripped physique mirrors Jordan's own transformation to lead the Creed franchise. There was never any question about Majors' acting ability to convincingly play Creed 3's villain, but now it looks like he also has the physical tools to pose a threat to Adonis' title as the Heavyweight Champion. Instead of potentially switching divisions again, Majors' appearance indicates that Creed 3 will deliver another heavyweight battle.
