NYC Optimist Development Programme – Pre-summer 2022

The Optimist Development programme is aimed at sailors who aim to compete in events and other competitions in 2022.  We believe there is demand for a performance group and a development group.  The performance group will consist of already experienced sailors who have competition experience, but did not meet the IODAI rankings in 2021 and qualify for the DOGS Winter training, and also the sailors moving from regatta fleet to main fleet in 2022 competitions.

While there is a focus on development and performance, our plan is based on the NYC’s core values of family, friendship and sporting excellence.

We will need 1 or 2 beachmasters for every session as you know our wonderful volunteers make our sport happen. Thanks for all the support to date in previous courses. Shore support is essential to the smooth running of the programme. As soon as the group is gathered, we will ask 2 parents for shore duty every Sunday. Many thanks in advance
