I got mysterious ‘tacky’ shoe deliveries for a YEAR – I thought it was funny but have been warned over dangerous scam

FOR the past year, a woman has mysteriously received more than 15 pairs of “really tacky” boots to her home.

Simone Boutet said that after the first pair inexplicably showed up at her front door, she began to expect their repeated arrivals.

While speaking to WLS-TV, Boutet called the shoes “really funny.”

“And they’re really, really, really tacky,” she added.

However, when she tried to return the first pair to UPS, they ended up right back at her house.

“I explained the whole thing to her and she understood it,” said Boutet, explaining her attempts to return the items.

“And so she took them back and then like four days later they came back in the mail to me.”

After that, Boutet says she found even more shoes at her front door.

She shared a photo of her shoes in a Facebook post, deducing that the heels are likely from Amazon.

“I have tried and tried to get them [UPS] to cut it out but this glitch is stuck and I am condemned to this fate forevermore. Rerouting them is hopeless,” she wrote.

According to UPS, the faulty deliveries were due to a “clerical error”, saying that they are working with the original vendor to correct the return labels.

However, the United States Postal Service (USPS), warned of “brushing scams” on their website, writing that unsolicited deliveries could be more dangerous than we think.

“While it may appear to be a victimless crime – you did after all get some free stuff – the reality is that your personal information may be compromised,” USPS wrote.

“Often scammers obtain personal information through nefarious means and with ill-intentions, and use it for a number of scams and other illicit activities in the future.”

Amazon is currently addressing the “highly unusual situation,” said a representative.

“We have reached out to our customer to apologize for this inconvenience involving a company selling on our site and have also asked the shoe seller to make the appropriate corrections on their end,” the representative said.

Boutet hopes she’ll never find another pair of shoes at her doorstep.

“I can’t get it to stop and it’s really funny because of the shoes themselves, they’re just hilariously not my style,” she said.

“And it just, it doesn’t stop. It’s absurdity.”
