A ONE-bedroom flat in a rural Scottish village has gone on the market for £6,000 – but buyers may be shocked by the inside.
The property in the rural village of Kilmacolm, Renfrewshire – one of Scotland’s most-affluent areas – will be auctioned off next month.
While potential-buyers may sense a bargain, they will no doubt be shocked by the state of the inside.
The ‘flat’ for sale is an eerie shell of a basement, with exposed-brick walls and wires hanging from the ceiling.
Visitors will be greeted with exposed beams above their heads as they walk along the bare concrete floor.
Auctioneer Future Property Auctions praised the apartment as a “perfect opportunity for a developer” with all services in the building.
Once done up, the flat is expected to sell for at least £100,000 and planning permission for a conversion has already been granted.
It is close to the centre of the village, which is just 14 miles west of Glasgow.
And the new owner has access to a shared back garden – which will come in handy as the flat lacks windows.

Buyers with ambition who are looking to put in the graft may also have spotted a three-bed family home on the market for just £70,000 in Lincoln.
The house needs a huge amount of work before the kids could move in.
