Michael Bisping having to undergo brutal body transformation for new movie as UFC legend reveals struggles of Hollywood
MICHAEL BISPING has revealed he is undergoing a brutal body transformation for his latest Hollywood movie.
The former UFC ace, 43, retired from MMA in 2018 and has since gone on to work as a fight analyst and film star.
And while British legend Bisping has revealed his post-retirement gigs are ‘easier’ than having his ‘head kicked in’, they’re still gruelling for his mind and body.
On his post-UFC life, Bisping told SunSport: “It gets more relaxing these days.
“I talk about fights as opposed to actually being in the fight. So, that’s way easier.
“But in a way it’s still the same thing when you’re getting ready for a fight in terms of all the preparation, failure to prepare is preparing to fail, as they say.

“It really is. It really is all about conditioning, it’s all about finding the right strategy, preparing your skills, working your jiu-jitsu – it’s all about preparation.
“To be honest, when you’re commentating the fights, again, it’s preparation, research, we’ve got to do a lot of work.
“When I’m commentating for the UFC, I’ve got to know them inside out so it’s a lot of preparation.”
Bisping then revealed he has been forced to work just as hard for his latest Hollywood film.

He continued: “I’ve got Den of Thieves II coming up later this year and a couple of other projects in the pipeline.
“Again, it’s all about preparation. I’ve got one role coming up and they want me much bigger.
“So I’ve got to do a lot of weights, a bit of bodybuilding…
“You’ve got to figure out the character, the back story and the rest of it.”
Despite that, Bisping admits MMA retirement is suiting him well, for one key reason.
He joked: “It is very different, it’s easier – I’m not getting my head kicked in!
“But it’s still a lot of work and preparation.”
Bisping is no stranger to rubbing shoulders with Hollywood’s A-List these days and is even good friends with Vin Diesel.
The Brit has told SunSport Diesel would have made a fine MMA fighter in his youth and had his say on that Will Smith slap.
Bisping continued: “Vin knows how to handle himself he’s an athletic guy. He’s not afraid.
“I think he had on the mean streets of New York scuffles when he was working on the doors.
“The only problem with Vin now is he’s getting on a bit. I mean, he’s 51 now.
“That time is probably passed for him although when he was younger I’m sure he would’ve done just fine.”
And the Oscars slap? Bisping claimed: “Will has passed his prime now.
“But judging by the slap that he hit Chris Rock with I don’t think he would’ve done too well [in UFC].
“That slap Chris Rock took it like a man, he continued the show, didn’t even stutter, he continued like a pro he is.
“So, if you going to sucker punch someone like that you want to make sure it has some impact.
“Sadly, for Will Smith, the Fresh Prince, he’s good at rapping and good at acting, but he ain’t good at slapping.”
*Bisping, along with MMA legends and stars such as GSP, Darren Till, will be attending FOR THE LOVE OF MMA Expo in Manchester at the Bowlers Exhibition Centre April 2 and 3. Tickets here…
