A number of Bruce’s co-workers spoke to the Los Angeles Times about his declining health in a new story, published on Thursday.
Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent previously worked with Bruce, 67, when she played his daughter in the film Hard Kill.
The Bravo star spoke to the outlet about how the action hero unexpectedly fired a gun on the wrong cue while on set in 2020.
She explained: “I’m supposed to think my life is about to end, and then my dad steps in to save the day.”
Bruce also reportedly wondered what he was doing on the set of the upcoming film White Elephant, which was filmed in April.
Two crew members recalled the star asking: “I know why you’re here, and I know why you’re here, but why am I here?”
The film’s director Jesse V. Johnson explained Bruce’s team told him that “it would be best if we could finish shooting him by lunch and let him go early.”
Meanwhile, the 2021 film Out of Death’s director Mike Burns reportedly told the film’s screenwriter to keep Bruce’s lines “short and sweet.”
He also offered little explanation for a sudden re-write regarding the Die Hard star’s role.
“It looks like we need to knock down Bruce’s page count by about 5 pages,” Mike wrote in a June 2020 email to the screenwriter.
“We also need to abbreviate his dialogue a bit so that there are no monologues, etc.”

On Wednesday, Bruce’s daughter Rumer, 33, took to Instagram to reveal her father’s diagnosis.
Alongside a throwback photo of Bruce Rumer wrote: “To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities.
“As a result of this and with much consideration, Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him.”
She continued: “This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support.
“We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him.
“As Bruce always says, ‘Live it up’ and together we plan to do just that.”
The message was signed by Bruce’s family members, including his daughters Rumer, Scout, 30, Tallulah, 28, Mabel, 7, and Evelyn, 9, his wife Emma Heming Willis and ex-wife Demi Moore.
Aphasia is a medical condition resulting in the inability to understand words and communicate clearly, aphasia typically occurs after a stroke or head injury.
SEEING CHANGES
Just hours after the family shares the news, Bruce‘s stunt double of 17 years, Stuart F. Wilson, exclusively spoke to The Sun about how Bruce had noticeably changed over the past year.
“We had seen some changes, but a lot of times with bigger celebrities that are really, really popular like, like Bruce, they have a million different things going on,” Stuart said as he explained that it wasn’t immediately clear something was wrong.
“Sometimes when you were talking to him, he just seemed sidetracked and we would think it would mean nothing but you would wonder if there are other things going on.”
Eventually, Stuart said, it became obvious that Bruce was dealing with more than just forgetfulness.

“Being with somebody that much yeah, you see the changes.
“Obviously we knew there was other stuff going on at a certain point in time. We realized because he’s getting tested for different things, but at the time we didn’t know exactly what it was.”
