Lost City’s End-Credits Perfectly Sets Up A Sequel (& Pitt's Better Role)

The Lost City's post-credits perfectly set up a sequel, which can give Brad Pitt a better and bigger role. Paramount's original romantic comedy starring Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum has the opportunity to become a franchise. After positive reviews and a strong box office start, The Lost City 2 could move forward and give audiences another adventure with Loretta Sage and Alan. The best sequel option has already been set up through The Lost City's after-credits scene.

By the end of The Lost City, Loretta and Alan are beginning a romantic relationship together after barely surviving their unexpected quest. This means that a sequel should see Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum back together, but The Lost City's post-credits scene also confirmed another major development. Brad Pitt's Jack Trainer makes an appearance, confirming that he miraculously survived being shot in the head earlier in the movie. Jack says this is possible because humans only use 10% of their brains to function, and he's just using part of the other 90% now. The funny scene gives audiences the perfect tease for The Lost City 2's story.

Jack could be an awkward third wheel as Loretta and Alan figure out their feelings for each other. Brad Pitt's The Lost City character could even help teach Alan a few more skills, enabling Channing Tatum to be more of an action lead in The Lost City's sequel. There's also the opportunity for Jack to become a romantic foil for Alan, as he could try to steal Loretta from him as a way of getting revenge.

Regardless of the exact story that the sequel tells, The Lost City's post-credits scene indicates that a follow-up can give Brad Pitt a better role. He's a scene-stealing presence in the movie, but he's only around for a short while. The Lost City 2 can now have Jack Trainer be involved for more of the story since he is confirmed to be alive. It would be beneficial for them to have Jack around if the sequel sees Loretta and Alan get wrapped up in another unexpected adventure. It'd even be possible for The Lost City franchise to keep killing Brad Pitt's character only to have him use another 10% of whatever is left of his brain.
