Report: Conte and Tottenham’s stance on Troy Parrott – Contract extension likely
The Athletic have revealed that Antonio Conte has not spoken to Troy Parrott even once since taking over as Tottenham’s head coach back in November of last year.
After a lacklustre start to his loan spell at MK Dons, Parrott has been one of the League One club’s best players over the last few months.
The striker showed his quality on the international scene this week, netting a long-range stoppage-time winner for the Republic of Ireland against Lithuania.
The Athletic have now shed light on what Tottenham’s plans are for the striker. The report reveals that the North London club have an option to extend Parrott’s contract by one year, with the current deal running out in 2023.
The Lilyhwhites are expected to take up the option and then loan Parrott out again next season to a League One or Championship club.
It is asserted that the youngster could return to Stadium MK again next season should the Dons win promotion to the Championship.
However, the report adds that Spurs do not expect Parrott to be a future first-team prospect and that Conte has not had any contact with the striker since arriving at the club.

Some players can be late developers and Parrott certainly appears to have turned a corner over the last six months. He will have an opportunity to impress Conte and his coaching staff in the first few weeks of pre-season and he needs to take the chance with both hands.
