I got a refund in Costco 5 YEARS after my coffee machine stopped working – shoppers need to know this hack
COSTCO is known for its well-priced items, bulk sales, delicious chocolate chip cookies, and, of course, the free samples.
But there is another little-known aspect of Costco that makes it so appealing: its return policy on many items.
A money saving expert who goes by @BougieCheapskate on TikTok has a following of over 300K thanks to her budget-friendly hacks.
She recently revealed a Costco policy that lets you return items well-past the date you’d imagine.
She reenacted a scenario in her video:
“Hi Costco, my coffee maker isn’t working anymore,” she said.

Acting as a store employee, she responded: “That coffee maker looks like it’s about five years old.”
“Yup. And I’d like to claim Costco’s 100% satisfaction guarantee. Since I’m no longer satisfied with this product, I’d like to return it so I can buy the newer model,” she said as the customer.
The “employee” acknowledged that she was correct: “Makes sense! There are a few exceptions to that rule, but coffee makers are covered. I can help you get that return started.”
The policy means you’d be able to return a number of products that no longer work properly, and instead purchase newer ones.

As for other Costco hacks, a money expert named Zachary Burrabel said there’s a way to shop at the chain retailer without a membership.
“Do you know if you have a Costco gift card or you wanted to buy one as a gift for somebody, that you don’t have to be a member to use it?” he said in a TikTok video.
He then proceeded to show Costco’s Shop Card FAQ page to prove his tip was true.

“Nonmembers, as well as members, may use Costco Shop Cards to shop at any Costco location in the U.S., Canada, or Puerto Rico, as well as online at Costco.com and Costco.ca,” the site reads.
Plus, you can even use the shop card on gas, which is notoriously cheap at Costco.
