The Goat’s Surf Forecast
The Goat’s Surf Forecast
Surf forecast issued Thursday March 2022: Seven day outlook for Sydney
“What’s the forecast?” I yelled to TG.
TG said to me: “Do you know what the German word for ‘Weather’ is??”
I replied “Of course I do. I know as much as you do”…. “It’s ‘Wetter’.”
TG: “Well there’s your outlook!”
So I took a look, and countered: “Then what’s ‘Sonntag’ mean??”
“Sunday.”
“Aha!! … Not quite so simple eh, ya dill!”
>>>
Weather and waves look like being pretty wild for the next coupla days..
But then after that…
There might be some sunshine and more moderate waves for a few days…
The Low seems to be moving out to sea and slowly moving south. Depending on where it decides to land each day will affect how big or small the waves are that day. Subject to that proviso, the current outlook is>>>
Friday: somewhere in the 4-5 metre range South East
Saturday: something similar
Sunday: somewhere in the 2-3 metre range South East
Monday: around 1 metre or so South East
Tuesday: ditto South East
Wednesday: ditto East
Thursday: could be 1-1+ metres North East
Grab the good when you can… do something else when you can’t.
TG will still be waiting to suss out water quality, after hearing about some people’s infections.
TG.
Up in the Air
From BoM:
A deep low off the northern New South Wales coast is drifting away from the coast and will move southwards over the Tasman Sea during the remainder of the week. Strong to gale force winds and large waves will be generated over all coastal waters associated with the low. Uncertainty remains about the timing, position and strength of this system but it is likely that there will be a gradual easing trend in the winds from the north during the weekend.
