Masked Singer: Christie Brinkley Reacts to Panelists’ Guesses For Lemur
Supermodel Christie Brinkley was revealed as the Lemur on The Masked Singer, and she was very happy with some of the panelists' guesses. While some fans have had issues with the panelists' inaccurate guesses throughout the seasons, Christie was pleased with the names she heard. Lemur was introduced during episode 4 with the second group of performers this season, alongside Hydra, Ringmaster, Armadillo and Miss Teddy. The star took the stage to perform a rendition of Carol King's "I Feel The Earth Move" while walking down a long runway, which may have been a subtle hint to her identity. The model admits that while she had a great time during her performance, she expected to be eliminated first.
Lemur's clue package included hints to rock music, acoustic guitars and a Hart magazine that pointed to the role of Roxie Hart in the Broadway musical Chicago. The Masked Singer panelists couldn't seem to agree on who was behind the mask, with Nicole Scherzinger convinced it was actress Goldie Hawn, and Jenny McCarthy positive it was Baywatch star Pamela Anderson. Ken Jeong had some pretty absurd guesses, as usual, yelling out everyone from Jennifer Anniston to Heather Locklear. However, after a negative response from the audience, Ken later changed his guess during Lemar's elimination. The panelist connected all the right dots and became the first panelist of the season to correctly guess a contestant, a rarity for Ken, whose guesses are often absurd.
While most of the panelists were very off with their Lemur guesses, Christie was absolutely flattered. In an interview with People, the star revealed that she thought the panelists' guesses were "fabulous." The model revealed that she's a big fan of Jennifer Aniston and Goldie Hawn, and she was honored to be compared to "those amazing women." Christie called the actresses her "favorite showbiz people" and revealed that while hearing the panelists' guesses, she thought, "All right. Even though I'm probably getting kicked off first, I've kind of just won right there."
While most fan guesses seemed just as off as the panelists, they did appreciate the contestant's confidence on stage, even if she didn't have the best vocals of the season. Fans were, however, blown away by Ringmaster's vocals, as were the panelists. Nicole was convinced the performer might be popstar Olivia Rodrigo, while her fellow panelists went for celebrities like country singer Kacey Musgraves and American Idol alum Kelly Clarkson. However, fans are sticking with their previous guess of Victoria Justice, while others think it may be someone like The Goldbergs actress Hayley Orrantia.
The panelists' guesses may have been very off, but at least they were favorable. It's great to hear that Christie had such wonderful things to say about the women to whom she was compared. While she may think highly of them, the panelists and fans were just as excited to see her on the show. While she wasn't the best vocalist of the season, she was so much fun to watch, and her short-lived appearance on The Masked Singer will not be forgotten.
