27 Car Entry For Long Beach

It is a 27 car entry for the first Sprint Cup meeting of the 2022 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the
100 minute Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach next weekend.

The entry sees the expected six DPis, a number matched by the debuting GTD Pro class and 15 cars in GTD.

DPi sees the #10 and #60 Acuras of Konica Minolta Racing and Meyer Shank Racing match up against four Cadillacs: The #5 JDC Miller, #31 Action Express and #01 and #02 Cadillac Racing cars.

The sextet of GTD Pro cars sees a car a piece for six different marques, Corvette, Porsche (with the #9 Pfaff Motorsports car), BMW (Team RLL stepping back from the two-car effort at Daytona and Sebring to a single car), Lexus, Aston Martin and Mercedes AMG, courtesy of the decision announced earlier this week from WeatherTech racing to switch to a full season for their #97 car rather than the initially programmed #79 Porsche.

Raffaele Marciello joins Cooper MacNeil in the #97.

GTD sees the planned debut of the #51 Rick Ware Racing Acura NSX GT3 Evo22 for Ryan Eversley and Aiden Read.

As announced last night, Gradient Racing make it two GTD Acuras on the grid.

The Mike Skeen and Stevan McAleer- pedalled #32 Mercedes AMG is now entered under the Team Korthoff Motorsports banner, the team previously known as Gilbert Korthoff Motorsports now in the sole ownership of Herb Korthoff with founding partner Henry Gilbert no longer a co-owner.

Winward Racing make it a pair of AMG GT3s.

There are a trio of Porsches with the Hardpoint and Wright Motorsports full season entrants joined by GMG Racing with their #34 911 GT3 R for Kyle Washington and James Sofronas.

Vasser Sullivan and Heart of Racing both back up their GTD Pro entries with solo GTD entries for Lexus and Aston martin respectively.

Paul Miller Racing and Turner Motorsports represent BMW with the new M4 GT3 and Lamborghini’s colours will be flown by both the Carbahn with Peregrine Racing and NTE/ SSR squads.

Crucial Motorsports enter their McLaren 720S GT3, and there will be two of the UK-built supercars as inception Racing’s #70 McLaren was a late addition to the event entry for Brendon Iribe and Frederik Schandorff though it is not clear whether this was an administrative error on the part of IMSA, or the team.
