EXPEDITIOUS TRIAL OF CASES MUST BE IN COMPLIANCE WITH DUE PROCESS – LAGOS CHIEF JUDGE

The Chief Judge of Lagos State, Hon. Justice Kazeem Alogba, has said that the expeditious trial of cases must be in compliance with due process in line with the rule of law.
Justice Alogba disclosed this during a courtesy visit by the Commissioner of Police, Special Fraud Unit (SFU), CP Josephine Nneka Anyasinti to his office at the High Court Ikeja Lagos.


While appreciating the work of the Special Fraud Unit, the Chief Judge reiterated the commitment of the Lagos State Judiciary to working cordially with the Special Fraud Unit, adding that criminal matters are treated as urgent matters by the courts.


Justice Alogba also gave an assurance that at no point in time will the court be completely shut down, stressing that there are designated judges to handle cases even during judges’ vacations.


Earlier, CP Josephine Nneka Anyasinti explained that the SFU is a section of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), the highest investigation arm of the Nigeria Police.
She commended the support of Lagos State Judiciary while seeking its continuous corporation with the State Fraud Unit for enhanced security operations in State.
