Leeds United Chat • Re: Five subs next season - good or bad?
Too true, all these feining injury / cramp nowadays, if the ref stopped the clock each time, same with subs, throw-ins, it would soon put a stop to it.Great news for the clubs with two ‘first 11s’. Easier to rotate the squad to stop players getting disgruntled due to lack of game time. Just makes the rest of the teams even less able to compete.
When you’re hanging on desperately for a point, City will just bring on two more international strikers.
Interestingly, other football codes in Australia have in recent years been limiting substitutions because it was changing the character of the sport. They realised that with less ‘fatigue factor’ games were becoming less open and lower scoring. Of course those codes don’t allow billionaire clubs to be effectively in a league of their own. I’m sure City, Liverpool and Chelsea will continue to bang in loads of goals.
Anyone remember those classic FA Cup finals with players strewn on the ground during extra time. No stopping play for a player with cramp. If you weren’t fit enough, too bad - should have trained harder.
Fancy having to lake a full 90 minutes a game !!
